The list of things to think, worry, and debate about can feel absolutely endless..
War, viruses, finances, relationships, politics, religion, job security, safety and well being of others and so much more
But, Jesus told his disciples, "Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me."
Now this is a very bold statement, but is it even possible to not be shaken by life's circumstances?
Jesus thought so, because he said these very words not long before he was nailed to the cross.
JESUS KNEW!
He knew He is the source of true peace.
He knew He is the source of real joy.
He knew He is the source of freedom from worry.
Trusting in God doesn't ensure an easy life, but it DOES mean we know He's walking with us.
But, HOW do we avoid getting stuck in a cycle of fear?
Take your thoughts and make them obedient to God
Prioritize His wisdom by reading, studying, and praying
Take out honest thoughts and questions to a trusted friend
Now absolutely, without a doubt, there will be troubling situations that come up, but when we know and trust Him who is in charge, we don't have to be troubled by these events
"You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you." Isaiah 26:3
You can fight fear and worry by continuing to put your trust in God one day and moment at a time.
